Covid-19 Letter from Pastor Tommy

Dear Cross Family,

We have been following the news about COVID-19 very closely and its effects globally and locally in Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Inasmuch as we walk by faith and not by sight, we walk in the collective wisdom of all that is available to us.

We have been urged by Federal and Local authorities to begin implementing social distancing measures in order to slow the spread of the virus. It is our prayer that these measures will prove profitable and move us more quickly to resuming our normal activities. Until then, here are a few important updates.

  • Worship Service

We will move to an all online format for this week. We will be broadcasting live on Sunday at 10:30am. (CLICK HERE to watch the service live OR on Facebook HERE– and a replay of the service will be archived to watch anytime in the future). We will re-evaluate this plan on a weekly basis.

  • Giving Online

Because giving is an act of worship in response to the generosity of our God, for those who do not already give online, we want to make sure you are able to give online by clicking HERE . It is your generosity that enables us to bring the message of hope to our local community and the watching world.

  • Prayer

As always, you can submit your prayer requests online HERE. With the common goal of being both careful and hopeful as a community of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, “Let us approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).

  • Activities

All church events and activities outside of the broadcast service are cancelled at this time. The City of Deerfield has postponed recreation events so this includes the Men’s Softball League.

  • Cleaning and Sanitary Procedures

Maintaining a clean, healthy and safe environment has always been a top priority for us. The facilities are cleaned weekly and the children’s toys are sanitized. At this time however, access to proper cleaning supplies is severely limited. In order to have the ability to appropriately sanitize both now and in future cleaning efforts, we will be limiting access to the church buildings. Staff will still be available to handle church business and emergencies.

In closing, the impact of recent events due to the spread of this virus have come as a surprise to all of us, but not to God. Our God is in complete control of all things, including this virus. Let us look for opportunities to be both salt and light bringing glory to our God and good to others.

As we continue monitoring this situation, we will keep you updated via email, text, social media, and our app (links included below).

I look forward to worshiping with you online at 10:30am on Sunday.
